Insight Thermal Diagnostics, a division of MacDonald Property Inspections, offers comprehensive home inspections featuring Infrared Thermal Imaging. Our comprehensive infrared thermal home inspection protects your financial investment anytime you are buying OR selling a home.

Because we use infrared thermal imaging to enhance a home inspection, we can detect and identify potential problems and save you a significant amount of money. Isolating potential problems such as plumbing leaks or seeping water gives you the chance to repair them before they become bigger problems, with much bigger price tags.

If you are selling a home, validating that all problems are fixed before you put it on the market can offer potential buyers a good feeling of security and ensure your home will sell quickly.
If you are buying a home, the added value of knowing your new home is safe and problem-free can make it easier to feel secure about one of the biggest financial decisions of your life.

Keep in mind that this type of home inspection cannot help you determine the fair market value of the property or prevent residual damage that is expected to occur over time. It can, however, clearly identify existing problems – even those you don't know are there – and help you correct those problems before additional damage occurs.

What's included in an Infrared Home Inspection?

Insight Thermal Diagnostics will perform a non-invasive, infrared thermal imaging scan of the entire home. Thermal image scanning measures the surface temperature and temperature variations of the visible and safely, readily accessible portions of the following:

interior floors and ceilings
doors and windows – inside and outside (for heating/cooling air loss)
interior and exterior walls
heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment
plumbing system and fixtures
main electrical systems and sub panels
a number of outlets and switches

After the inspection, all thermal anomalies will be documented in a Thermal Diagnostic Survey report which will include both natural (visible light) and infrared photographs where applicable. This report will include recommendations and advice for repairs when possible.
